MSD Fuel Pumps
Has anyone tried putting an MSD high pressure fuel pump under the hood rather than close to the gas tank, as they suggest.
I want to put it under the hood to keep it away from the snow and ice, but I am not sure if it will work properly if I do this.:hail:

With the deminishing real estate under the hood, it's difficult to keep a fuel pump from vapor-locking in hot weather, but if heat isn't a problem (you mentioned snow & ice) then yes, you can put it in the engine bay (where? it needs to be at or below the level it was in the gas tank.) Fuel pump are in the gas tank to keep them cool to eliminate vapor-locking, and reduce the noise high volume pumps produce.

A problem I could see is the elec. pump is a pusher, not puller like the good 'ol mechanical pumps. I would think you might have a pressure loss.
