Curiosity question, not to technical.

What is the point of the “Tuned Port Injection” throttle body plate? The service manual calls it a clean air cover.

When you remove it, you'll see why it's needed

Factory always calls things by obscure names.

Clean air does go under it, but I don't think "Clean Air Cover" would have been my first naming choice.

I would have stuck with Throttle Body Plate.
