A women is selling her 86 Iroc for 2000$CAD. It has the original paint, t-top, 5.0 TBI auto trans, leather steering with all the options... Of course the car need a paint and an interior refresh. It is all stock and original except for the rims;`91-92 wheels. I am looking for a second ride/project. Would you buy it or find a TPI instead?? I've had no experience with TBI engine...

For a baseline, start with KBB.com and edmunds.com, get an idea.

Then scan the classifieds and see what the yahoos think of thier pride and joys....find a happy medium....but for 2K CDN (what's that about 1100-1200 US??) seems you're doing okay if the body has no cancer.

First oder of topic would be to ditch the TBI

 

Are you sure it's TBI on an '86? I didn't think they started that until 1988
Look at the 8th digit on the VIN. That will tell you what it left the factory with, most likely an LG4 but maybe an L69, both carbed 305's.

 

It is a TBI engine: probably changed but wonder why they would go TBI over a carb settup??

Still looking for an Iroc at a decent price... Thanks for your help thought!
