If you have fuel, air, and spark then your problem is not VATS related.

this might be a dumb question but if the chip in my key is messed up what will happen? will it crank forever or will nothing happen?

Hey Rainman, I've got an 85 5.0 tpi that I just put an 87 ecm, harness in and I have the same problem. I got all used parts, ECM, chip etc., supposed to be all good but hours of TS and still same thing. Someone on this board told me to go to http://www.chevythunder.com and there you will find every thing you need to know about TPI. The troubleshooting flow charts I think helped me the most. I think I have a bad ECM, at least this one didn't cost anything, but I guess I'm paying for it now! Let you know how it goes in a day or two.
And thanks to who ever posted that link for me. Much help.

Doug

has the motor jumped time. what was you doing the last time it run. Did it just die or did you cut it off and it not start back. You have fuel but how much pressure. Try spraying some brake parts cleaner in the intake while you are turning it over.
