Flamethrower questions

Before you even give me the good ol' Hear me out. I have already searched, and from what I read, no one has really said if that have, or could put flamethrower exhust on their TPI. Has it been done without a kit, and if so how was it riged up?

You can dance around google for a long time looking for answers, as I did. The basic idea seems to be that you run a switched power line to the rear of the ca where you power 2 ignition coild, often from a junkyard. Those coils connect to two spark plugs that you mount about 6" or so from the end of the tips, and then all you do is rev it up, get off the gas real fast, and flip the switch.. Not sure what size of a flame you'll get from a TPI motor though..

Other people rig up extra fuel injectors, connected to propane tanks and stuff, but I dont know much about that..

well right now my car runs really rich. I have a TPI motor, but I do not have the tublar exhust to burn the gas that is not burnt already. I have cats, but they are only there to muffle the sound a little because i have sidepipes and I can't fit mufflers there. So I think that if i just run to coils I should be fine. But how to I get power to the 2 coils that i need?

My tips that i have on my car

Oh yeah, I forgot you Americans need to stay emissions legal :P

Uh, if you have a cat, it'll completely screw it up, because the cats will take care of most of the fuel, and when you go to shoot the flames, you'll get next to nothing. If emissions were of no concern, i'd say just replace the cats with a glasspack muffler or something..

If not, you'll probably have to rig up a propane injection or something. Here is a kit you can buy that'll supposedly come with everything you need, but once again, you'll have to do something about the cats.

Btw, that exhaust looks awesome. How's your ground clearance with that? I have been thinking of something similar..

I have about 2" clearance on the tips, as for the pipe i have about and 1". I bought it some place to get it done, because I don't have a pipe bender, or a wender. I was under the car the whole time. If I have some extra cloths I would have done it myself. Just remember not to hang anythingn lower then the crossmember, if you can do that you'll be fine.

The coils should run to a switched power source. I think you can use like 4ga amp wiring or something..

Well, that's my understanding, but of course I'm just telling you what I know.. not my fault if you blow up your battery or something. :P
