TPI Heeater Removal Q
I am wanting to remove the heater from my 90 TA. I am not quite sure how the heater system works, but to remove it would you plug the hole in the intake manifold with an allen plug, and some how plug the hole in the radiator where the heater hose enters it? This would bypass the throttle body and heater core, I think. How would you fill the hole in the radiator though? And does anybody know the thread size of the fitting on the intake manifold?
Thanks for the help.

y would you wnat to get rid of your heater? unless it doesnt work heaters dont weight you down or anything and if your car is over heating it could actually help if you turned on your heater .its kinda like a mini radiator.but if u insist on taking it out (cuz your blower dont work or anything) then all you have to do is bypass the heater core and to do that all u need is 1 hose to go from your intake straight to the radiator and if i remeber right you have to jsut add a short hose and a plug in the hose for down on the left side of your engine where the heater hose also runs . but ill go out to my car 2morrow to make sure for you if you need me to jsut let me know
hope that helps
oh yeah and if your heater works KEEP IT

I'm just tired of all the hoses cluttering up the engine compartment. I never use it here in Florida, even in the winter. Thanks for the info, though.
I wouldn't throw any parts away, so I could always put it back in if I needed to. (Just a lot of work)

no problem
but theres no reason to get rid of it if it works its not really worth the few hoses
if anything and if you can you could get rid of all the smog crap but only depending on how they inspect cars around there. im from Louisiana they hardly check anything only the usual (lights.horn, blinkers, windshield, winshield wipers i think thats all) or if the cluster bugs you that bad then just put on a carb and you will get rid of so much crap its unbelieble lol
but most people real probably agree with me about the heater its nor worth getting rid of a heater for the few hoses it deletes and if you get rid of it you might as well take out the heater core cuz if you leave it it will leave the 2 ends sticking out in the engine capartment
but its really up to you and what you wnat its your car right
if you need more help on taking it out just give me a post back here and ill take a look outside and give you more info on taking it out
if i remeber right takinjg out the core is a pain in the *** i think you have to take out damn near the whole dash from top to bottom jsut to get a screw or 2 out
good luck on what you do
