I heard over at the tpichips.com that you can use the 94 S10 4.3L torque converter in our cars. has anyone heard about this?

I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work. The 4.3s used the 700R4, and the motor is essentially a 350 with 2 cylinders lopped off. I think people are trying to get a higher stall out of a stock converter, instead of spending the $300+ for a new lockup unit. The 4.3 converter will stall higher than a V8 converter in a V8 car.
People do it to b-bodies with 700R4's all the time. I myself was considering doing this mod to my caprice. The S10 unit stalls around 2200 I beleive, it seems like a nice cheap bang for the buck mod.

I have on behind my 383 and love it. Its the right stall speed and 200 bucks brand new from Van Devere Olds in Akron Ohio its wellllll worth it.
