TPI switch

Havign trouble readingthe voltage to the tpi switch. I made the jumper, good connection, and I get no voltage reading from the vom, I know the meter is good. I do get some voltage when the throttles open, but 0 when closed. And yes I have the key turned to the on position... Any ideas?

I am guessing your meaning to say, the "TPS" and not "TPI" correct. As in Throttle Position Sensor... There is a great little write up the Tech section in the Side menu on the sites main page. I would link you right to it, but my PC at work isn't working proper and I can't copy and paste right now.

The TPS should read at least 0.54 volts at closed throttle. and at least over 4 volts when at wide open throttle. If it doesn't flow up the voltage somewhat smoothly, and or stops or jump around... you will most likey require a TPS

yes, sorry the tps switch. Should I be able to read any voltage from the wires connecting the tps switch with no jumper in? I didnt get any reading there either, but It sounds as though maybe a new tps switch is the answer? I can move the switch with the engine running and get it running fairly well, but I am sure that setting needs to be dailed in ?
