fuel pump wont shut off
fuel pump wont shut off
i put a fuel pump in my ta, it wont pressure up and shut off it should run 5 or 6 seconds then shut off but it keeps running any ideas as to this problem
Is the relay sticking? How about the auxillliary oil presure switch?
If either of those are sticking, the pump will run continuously. Of course, the pump SHOULD run continuously whenver the engine is running and creating distributor reference pulses.

i for got to mention this car was swaped to tpi from carb, and the fuel pump runs with the key off it don't appear to be hook to a relay. i pulled the relay out and it stil keeped running. there is a red wire that it just pushed into a plug with another wire in the fuse box when i unhook it the pump stops.

Sounds like the pump was dummy rigged and you get to mess with the end results.
I suggest going over your entire pump wiring and find out what's all wired to what. Grab a fuel pump schematic from Trickster and rewire as you need.
I have mine wired through a generic 30a relay from radio shack.
