Vette Parts

I have a neighbor that might be willing to sell me the heads and cam from his '88 vette. Would they match well with my 5.0 tpi? How much difference will the parts make?

The 350 heads on a 305, you will automatically give up compression!

In stock form the heads on your car spec at 58cc, and are iron. The Aluminum Vette heads will also spec at 58cc...but they are aluminum...and therefore require more compression, but the compression ratio won't necessarily change.

Take the heads (much better in stock form than the 305 heads), have them cleaned up and surface milled, new springs, and put them on (~$125). Don't know the specs on the '88 Vette Cam. It's a roller and should slide right in...and will be much better than what you have. I'd say about 40 hp potentially...+/- with both installed.

Need to swap those 2.73 gears, regardless.
