I have an 86 z28 with a new 350, with flattop pistons, and a set of old double hump heads with no assecory holes in them, and a mild stock cam 224 INT, 224 EXH, at .50 and 114 Degres of LSA, INT .450 EXT .461 valve lift. I want to put a Tpi system on this motor. I am looking at a 88 350 iroc setup it comes with complete intake, ecu, distributer, and i plan to buy a a painless wiring harness. What do i have to do to my motor to make it work with the Tpi. Will i have to change my heads or pistons or what other parts may i need for this swap. Any help would greatly be apperciated. Thanks....

I don't know much about heads, but I do know that the pre 87 TPI has a different intake manifold then the post 87 TPI systems.
Therefore if your heads are pre 87 and you got this setup you would either need to modify the manifold, or just get the correct one. But other then that the rest of the system will bolt right up.
As far as pistons I am not sure, I will let more ppl take it from here.

To get the manifold base to work, all you have to do is elongate the center 2 bolt holes on both banks. Only take the material needed to get the bolts thru, and you won't have any sealing issues.
You shouldn't NEED to tune with a cam that mild, but it will definately help with drivability and performance.

Will I need any other sensors besides whats in the tpi intake?

Don't forget the most fun part of all, the intank fuel pump.... unless you decide to go with an external one that is. Originally posted by rustyZ28

I wrote a TPI swap guide for the second gen Camaro guys. You might be able to gleen some info from it though.

Be careful, I tried to elongate the bolt holes on the pre86 intake and the post 86 heads and there was not enough metal to safely bore it out! You may be better going on eBay or somewhere like Hawks to get the correct parts!!!
