I just purchased on ebay what is supposed to be a Holley (Walbro?) 255LPH fuel pump for TPI type application. This pump was advertised as never used. It arrived and certainly looked the part. It was in several seperate plastic bags that were never opened, complete with sock and install kit. The only thing that seemed to be missing was the actual box with the part # on it. I put it in and it fit exactly as it should. One thing that I wondered about was that I was supplied a hose with two plastic clamps that was used to replace the factory steel piece that slips over the pump and over the feed line. The problem is that when I turn on the key and hang my gauge on the TPI rail it only develops about 15 lbs of pressure before it shuts off. Is it possible this is not the high pressure version of this pump? Is this the way it would act? The holley site doesnt even list a low pressure version but I know Walbro makes both. Any suggestions or a way to identify which one I have?

If you key it up a couple of times and all it does is 15lbs, you have the wrong pump. Should go to the 40's with key on. Try it a couple of times to get any air out of the line, but if still 15lbs then it's wrong.

Correct. It may be a pump designed for (ugh!) TBI, or even (more UGH!) a carbureted installation.

Does it hold the 15psi, or does it fall back to 0? If it goes back to 0, then the problem might be that you have a pump for a late-model Ford application where the check valve is in the sending unit instead of the pump. I've got a Walbro 255 "Ford" pump in my car with no check-valve...it takes a few extra cranks to start if its been sitting, but otherwise it works just fine.

It holds 15 PSI. I pulled it back out. Here is whats marked on it
This pump is marked "998 made in USA 4C30A WTC 08" Any ideas?
