Cam Question
Cam Question
I'm going to build a small motor for the bird next month have a few questions about cams.the motor will be a stock tpi 350 bottom end w/edelbrock base and runnners, tfs twisted wedge heads, crane 99846 springs, 1.6 roller rockers and headers. i dont want to mess w/the computer at this time, so what whould be a good cam to get good performance outta this combo and not throw codes and mess w/the computer?
What year is the car, or more specifically, the ECM? If you have a MAF system, you may get by with the stock PROM, but just get by. If you have a speed/density, it's likely to be "Code-City" for that combination.
With the head and cam changes, a new PROM shoudl be in the plans. The stock PROM is barely adequate for the stock configuration, after all.
As for the cam specifications, it would help to know what rear gearing is installed, what the torque converter specs might be, and what yo plan to do with the vehicle. Is it a daily driver, track only, or something between?
