comp xr276hr
Is any one running the comp cam xr276hr? Its the hydraulic roller cam? (will modify chip)
My current engine consits of:
350 4bolt main
sportmanII heads fully ported and polished
comp cam 268xe
1.6 roller rockers
10.6:1 comp ratio
stock tpi intake, throttle body and runers
28lbs injecters
eddlebrock headers
basically open dual exhuast
I was thinking about converting over to a roller cam and was just wonder how much of an improvement it would make.
I have a complete zz4 engine that has 75 miles on it and it is setting on an engine stand... I tried to sell it but havent got any serious inquiries. So I was thinking about parting it out to recoupe some of the money I have in it.
The cam in it, I feel is wimmpy compaired to the cam I have in the engine I am running now.
Just thought I'd ask you guys that may have tried it.
Thanks,
Matthew

hydraulic vs roller
would it be worth changing from a hydraulic cam to a roller cam with the duration close to the same?
Is anyone running the gm hot cam? The duration is a couple degrees lower than the cam I am currently using....

Switching from a hydraulic cam to a hydraulic roller is a huge difference. You will pick up a lot of mid range plus its less friction. Rule of thumb on a engine.....less friction equals more power. Plus the hydraulic roller cam can have more lift and more duration because of the roller lifters for more power there. Its all what you want to build. What's wrong with your ZZ4??? If you part it out....I might be interested in the block.

Nothings wrong with it... I just dont have a use for it now. If I part it out I could use the money towards my car.
I think I have the heads sold. The only thing I wanted to keep would be the roller lifters.

Yea, I understand that.....if you get it down to a bare block let me know but I would like to switch to a 4 bolt main with a 1 piece rear main seal. I live in GA so let me know if you do. Thanks

so you have a 2 piece 350 now?
I would like to get a spare 350 block thats a 2pc... was thinking about building a 383. I am in no rush to get it done thats why I dont want to use my current engine, becasue I would be out of a car for a while.
Let me know if you you want it. I can pull it apart quickly. How would you work out the shipping?

Do you have any pictures of the block? Also....is there any rust on the block? What would shipping be to ship it to GA?
