Visual differences between 85-88 and 89-92 tpi setups
I found a tpi setup that I might p/u for a project, but I am weary as to the validity of the sellers statements. He claims it is off a 92 IROC which thew up a red flag for me already. But what I would like to know is if there are things I can look for on the runners, plenum, and what not to indicate whether it is the earlier MAF setup, or the 90-92 SD setup. The lower intake is not included so I will not be able to go on that. Thanks fellas, I appreciate it

Besides what Vader alluded to, look for the MAP sensor holes on the right side of the plenum. Earlier plenums did not have the holes.
I think I stole this picture from a Hot Rod technical article. I also have one showing the difference between the throttle body openings. The 3 arrow shows the area for the MAP boss on the '90-'92 SD systems.
