knock sensor placement?
Hi,
I'm curious to know how important knock sensor placement is in the block. I currently have it mounted in the block on the passengers side.
My painless wireing book says to install it on the drivers side near the oil filter. Does placement really make any difference?
Also, is there any difference between a 305 knock sensor and a 350 knock sensor?
Thanks,
-HD

The stock placement for the knock sensors on TPI motors is on the passenger side. I would hope that GM engineers knew what they were doing when they decided on that location.
Yes, there is a difference between a 305 and 350 knock sensor.
