Need some intake help

Ok guys, here is my situation...

I have a totally polished TPI setup from my 86 IROC which I really dont want to lose. This includes the throttle body, plenum, and runners. I am in the process of swapping to a 91 corvette engine which has all of the tpi intake parts intact.

Can I use my 86 plenum, runners and throttle body if I go speed density? Will I have to drill holes in the plenum for the different throttle linkage or MAP sensor? Will the 91 corvette computer be ok with the 86 intake parts? If not what ones can I/cant I use?

If this is a big problem I'll just end up selling the polished stuff on ebay or the classifieds here and go with trying to clean up the intake parts from the vette motor.

Thanks for any help! P.S. I have a TPIS big mouth for the bottom manifold if that matters....

I'm switching to speed density on my car in a few days. Your intake should be fine. The SD computer will use your current MAF MAT sensor that is already in your current plenum, all the other stuff you would need to swap for SD are included in the corvette block (ECM, MAP sensor, knock sensor, memcal). You will simply need to T off a vacuum line and use that for your MAP sensor. I'm pretty sure the throttle linkage is the same as well. If the vette motor came from an automatic car the memcal you have should be fine, if it came from a manual car you may have to get a memcal for an automatic vette.

so your saying I could 'plumb' in a vaccum tube to act like the map sensor? I have the memcal off of the automatic corvette, it's a 730ECM if I am correct. And I have both sets of throttle cables from both cars.

Yes it should be a 730 on the vette. Here's a pic of the way one member of this board rigged up the MAP sensor when converting from MAF.

From this web page on how to convert:

If I'm not mistaken this is similar to how a stock MAP sensor is set up.

Yep, you can and should reuse your higher performance intake parts.
