3.73's wt my combo, should I??
I want to go with some 3.73's this year, does anyone think they will just slow the car down in the 1/4?? I am gonna port the crap out of the Super ram eventually!! I know a couple guys in here might be able to help me. My converter stall speed is about 2600 if that helps. I have searched, but it looks like some have good luck with the gearing, and some wont touch anything over 3.42?? HELP ME!!

Your sig says you have a 2.3 60 w/no traction....gonna be even tougher to hook'em up with 3.73's...
I'd suggest you head to the suspension forum and do some homework on how to get it to hook up...seems you have 12's within a reasonable range...long before you think about re-gearing it

The 3.73's won't hurt your combo. They helped mine and I still have the stock runners and such. However, traction WILL be a problem. Before doing the gear swap I recommend an adjustable torque arm, LCA's and relocation brackets, 90/10's, and of course drag radials or slicks. Then you should have no problems hooking.

3.73 gears gained me 3mph in the 1/4 while dropping my ET down half a second. I had 3.23 gears originally.
One of my friends with an 86 Z28 has a 355 with an HSR and 3.73 gears and his car runs great, still pulls past 140mph and gets decent gas milage.
