TPI power potential?

looking for some info on how much power you can get out of a TPI 5.7. and how hard it is to obtain.

ive been throwing around the idea of a project car. a C4 vette actually, but this was the TPI forum and im sure there are alot of people here with suped up 5.7s but i got stuck between spending the extra grand or 2 for the LT1 version or saving money and getting the TPI

my goal is 400-450hp with it.

any help/pictures/info is helpful

PS: id go find a corvette forum, but i cant find any really great ones that have engine tech as good as this forum.

Have you tried www.corvetteforum.com
Quite a few Vettes with Stock TPI systems running mid 12s in the qtr mile.

The Stock TPI flows about 200cfm@28". A well built engine around the stock TPI CAN make 400 hp. Not easy. Don't know of any here that have done it...close maybe. Lots of torque down low in the rpms maxing the horsepower at 4500-5000rpm. If you consider aftermarket intake systems... the MiniRam, SuperRam, and the LT1 intake conversion would make 400-450hp more expectable if that's what your after.
