you know, looking at that, if done properlly could actually be a good idea, if they roughed up the plenum pretty bad and put some angle plates to direct the flow of air, that wouldnt be a bad idea at all, at least i think. I could be dead wrong though.

I remember seeing those pics on ebay!!! lol but I really like the TPI set-up cause i think it looks badass. but I hated the restrction so I bought a vortec Stealth ram which is on its way. But man did this car love the low end.
eventually I wound up with 243 rwhp and 343 rwtq not bad on the tq side of things but that hp number is way to low for me. but this motor w/ 3.73's got me all the way down to 13.19 @101 a few weeks back and now tomorrow im looking to go lower...

your numbers are lower than they should
in my opinion.
I have a LTR 5.7L 350, Brand New 081 casting 305 heads (ported and ported again) Holley AFPR, 1.6 alum roller rockers, hydraulic roller cam (272/282, .465/.465) compcams roller lifters, 1 3/4 shorty headers, 3in exhaust to the tail pipe.
brand new bottom-end, flat-top pistons.
ported plenum, runners and intake base moderately.
built 700r4, corvette servo, 3.73 posi rear, alum. L98 driveshaft.
awaiting a custom PROM from TPIS and a new set of
injectors.
I just didnt throw money at it, We were meticulous
on how we built the bottom end.
We paid attention to detail on the valvetrain,
clearence issues, and cam selection (final selection
hasnt been made) the one I have is compliant
with its current tune.
eventually changes will have to be made,
Im expecting to go through 3 or 4 more proms before I
get what I want. ( its alot cheaper knowing how to do it yourself )
If I dont get more than 240HP, youll see me throw
on an HSR... which I feel is not necessary right now ..
Im confident with a fine tuned motor .. ill see 275-315 HP
and a solid 300-330 ft Lbs TQ.
all with 19+ MPG
which would make that a respectable engine
for Street/Strip
it is kinda sad to see new V6 cars with that kinda HP
and get 24+ MPG
in my opinion.

well that sounds really cool, cuz i have this engine that is rated at 305 hp and 405lbs of torque, with the tpi putting out tons of power per torque load, i should be fine, i have exhaust work done and custom ram air box with K&N intake. Also stage 2 MSD coil and soon to be pro billet distributer. I am going to port out the intake holes to make them bigger, I read somewhere that a guy did this to his 383 tpi and reved up to 6000 RPM, I am giong to be putting in a 400sbc crank pretty soon and new rocker arms. Do you have any idea how much that crank will give me, just curious. Soon new MAF, injectors, and throttle body, along with the computer chip and whatever else i figure out to get for this damn car. The only problem is I am running stock 2:73 posi rear end. so its basically a highway car, which doesn't bother me cuz i am not trying to build a drag car, but a streetable car, but it should pull pretty hard when i am done. Oh, and also getting a T56 transmission, just need the transmission to covert over.

Im not bragging about my setup, but I know ill be pushing
more HP than stock form .. especially with a good tune.
his HP rating is close to what a stock L98 puts out.
235 Horse give or take a few.
his TQ looks great ..I hope I get those numbers

explain what has been done to your 350 besides
a pro billet distributor and a coil?
and what are these intake holes you speak of? (lol)
("holes" is a bit vague) you mean exhaust ports?
your 350 is making 400+ TQ with stock untouched heads,
stock injectors, ECM, intake manifold, and throttle body?
-I wish my car was so suseptible to those lil mods.
ive spent $2300+ to get my car where it is ..
you spend $300 and you blow my doors off,
something is missing here

TPI, that sounds very awesome.
I have people telling me I waste my time with my engine...I bought a sdpc vortec 350 tpi...and was told it was a stupid idea. well, ive gotta pass inspection for one thing, and I want to prove people who rag on me wrong. Everyone says TPI will never see 12s, yet there are guys on this board who do so, and others that come very close.
I'm having mine tuned by a local club guy. He knows his crap, and hes coming down here and making adjustments where needed.
after break in, and after my transmission is handled (i gotta put in a TC and shift kit), I expect a high 12...and about 300rwhp 400 rwtq just about.

There are a number of us in the Southern California Third Gen club running 12's with TPI. I expect to be in the 12.5's by the end of the year with my 350. See signature. This is with a fully loaded GTA and California smog compliant. I drive the 65 miles to the track with cruise control and air conditioning.
