New track times...check-em out!

Well I made it to the track tonight after getting the 2800 stall and getting my trans rebuilt with a trango kit. I dont think the tranny did much as it seemed to shift the same, I was manually shifting anyways. It was a nasty muggy night cause it rained durring the day and then the night heat came back. So there was alot of dew in the air. I was stalling it up to about 2000 and then mashing it...oh yeah I was running Nittos with air at 20lbs. I know it was the tires that did it and the stall let me leave at a higher rpm...before I could only leave at like 1500 but then it would take forever to get up in the RPM's

OLD TIMES: 02/05/05...nice and cool bout 50*
60' 2.036
5.941
ET. 9.145
MPH: 77.144

NEW TIMES: 05/19/05 muggy and nasty out...70*
60' 1.794
5.632
E.T 8.867
MPH: 76.520

Why is my MPH slower? I guess that just shows the little 305 has nothing up top. I still have yet to put in a digital 6+ box and some SLP runners....Im hoping the runners might give me some up top.....but I dont think so..I dont want to lose anything down low.

whatcha think?

Oh and I still have yt to hook up the NX kit gonna be hitting the 100 pills..

Your mph is about the same, a new stall TC won't give you anymore HP so the mph won't increase.

You are faster (ET) with the new stall because you took .3 off the 60' time.

The stall and the nittos is what gave me the .3 at the 60' mark. If I wouldnt have had the drags I would have spun like mad trying to leave. Im wondering if the runners will give me a little something up top.

Good times John!!

I'm no expert driver, but traction has been an issue for me too. Either that, or I launch too low and bog. I can't get it just right.

...but I know people are hooking with double the power, so I know it's just the driver!

...anyhow, I'm not sure how much the runner will help ya with that 305. Probably a little, but I'd do the whole intake together, not just the runners.

If ya lose any torque, just launch a little higher!

That's an excellent 60' time. You should be running in 13.9-14.0 range in the quarter in decent air. The loss in MPH is either the poorer air conditions, slightly less efficiency in the TC, or a combo of both. Wouldn't worry about it since losing 1/2 MPH under the circumstances really isn't bad at all.

Thanks guys! I have no clue where I sit in the 1/4.......I was running a 14.2 so my guess would be about a 13.8....hopefully or less...LOL! I would have tried to stall it up higher but my brakes wont hold me....people at the track where like DAMN!!!!! a 305 running that. I beat all the 350 guys down there and even beat a LS! car cause he didnt launch good and got a 2.3 ..60' ended up running a 9.0
I'll find out soon as Im gonna make a trip to Rockingham dragway and run down there just to see what it does.
