305 tpi compression question

Hey guys for the record i did do a search before i asked this so here we go. I have a 90 Irocz with a 305 tpi motor and a 700r4 trans. The motor is in the process of being rebuilt now and i am wondering if i get the block decked and the heads shaved a little bit could i get 10:1 compression without having to do computer mods? Ow also just dont reply and say well you should just rebuild a 350.

Thanks for any help in advance
Matt

You should build a 350.

The computer wont care about the compression change.

Motion seconded, your computer will never know the difference. Just be careful to check fitment of the intake when you put it together. I have heard horror stories of people screwing that up and the intake not fitting right, but that is usually after lots of milling and having an idiot machinist do it. You will be fine.

And you can make plenty of power with a TPI 305. You just need the right setup. They respond to all the same mods as their bigger brothers and there are more of them around because most people ditch them in favor of 350s! My compliments on sticking with the 305
