What is the Stock Injection Height?

Does anyone know what the height is on an OEM 22 lb/hr pintle type injector?

The numbers on the one's that were in the car are:

F65E-A4A and 9F593

I had bought them from Five-o-Motorsports and I was told that they were stock GM 22 pounders (however I think that they say Ford on them! #?!@)

I just put in Accel 30 lb/hr, well, they're in the rail and I haven't put the Plenum back. I'm not using any retainers because I didn't have any. The 22s were in and running without the retainers and no leaks, although the car was only started a handful of times and never really driven.

I need to make sure that with the fuel rail bolted down I won't have any leaks. I was careful to make sure that the injectors were seated properly in the fuel rail and it doesn't look like they have any room to move up or down, but I can turn them from side to side slightly.

I was thinking about juicing the fuel pump up while the Plenum is still off to check if the injectors leak. Is that a good idea?

Anyway, the demensions on the Accel are as follows:

Height (in): 2.880
Seat to Seat Height (in): 2.270
Manifold O-Ring Outside Diameter (in): 0.573
Fuel Rail O-Ring Outside Diameter (in): 0.574
Outside Diameter (in): 0.943

Someone please let me know if these'll work in the rail without the retainers.

DO NOT pressurize the fuel rails to test them without clips on the injectors. The fuel pressure will force the injectors out of the rails.

You don't need retainer clips once the injectors are installed between the rails and intake, and the rails are bolted down. The injectors cannot escape once the assembly is bolted together.

It is completely normal to be able to turn the injectors in their 'O' rings, even after the assembly is bolted together securely.

So, if I understand you correctly, as long as I've bolted the fuel rail down to the manifold (even if I haven't assembled the Plenum to the runners), I can energize the fuel system, right?

That should be safe, as long as the cold start is installed and all lines are connected.

Cool. There is no cold start, its been done away with somehow; and I didn't touch the lines.

So I take it that the demensions of the Accels are the same as stock right? I'm just worried that the retainers are important to the proper seat height of injectors and without them the Injectors will move around or something.

I have read on some of the posts that the retainers are not needed. SO, I'm hoping that this is true in my case.
