Hey guys,

I got a 69 355 engine that came from a 69 camaro or most likely a vette. I got the casting # details .. thats what it tells me. I got a 87 305 TPI engine in the GTA, I would like to swap the 350 in there. But I want to keep my TPI setup. Is this possible? The 355 is all done up. Is the TPI system worth keeping? or should I just work with the carb. but the problem is emissions. What does everyone recommend? I need some replies with people who have done these conversions before.

This is the engine I want to throw in,

thanks for the help

YES- KEEP THE TPI!!!

Oh brother- I did a similar swap with a 1978 Vette 8 years ago. TPI in non-TPI car... or in your case TPI onto TPI motor.

What you don't want to run into is a hang up with your cam. What kinda cam do you have? That WILL directly affect the performance of the TPI. If you an emissions un-friendly set up (cam) you may have trouble with the computer's in ability to dial the spark and fuel right.

Next, you'll need larger injectors. Go with LT1 or LT4 injectors. They should do fine for around 300hp.

Check your heads. If the pattern is for the late style TPI, you'll need the center four manifold to head bolt holes machined for the offset.

larger injectors is a forsure, as well as a new computer chipped and ready. Im not sure about the cam my bro might know hes got more info on the engine. But I know its a bolt main engine as well.. im gonna say probley a double cam? but really dont take my word for it im not sure ill have to ask my bro.
