Got my motor, now what?
Ok guys so i got a L98 motor that has been basically rebuilt to stock. This is what i wanted because i was wanting to build my own thing then get a motor that was already built up and possibly abused. So i know i am going to take my heads to a head shop and get them done pretty much to the best they can be. Now i was wondering what TPI parts are the best for me a make a good motor. I don't want to go to the HSR or anything like that because i take my car to shows and i think the TPI intake looks better then all of those when it is chrome. So any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There are a ton of after-market parts for the Tuned Port Injection.
you said you would like the car to be as pretty as can be for car shows, are you also looking for performance?

yeah it is mainly a show car. I did find out today a few more specifics about the motor. I definetly am keeping the TPI because i will chrome it and it looks the best as far as intakes go. I know a machine shop guy that is going to do the heads and all of the intake for me. But i am pretty sure i am going to buy SLP Runners and have the intake components matched to them. Then a cam with a 100 shot. That is pretty much my main plan right now. Not to be extremely fast but to be respectable whenever i do actually drive it. Does that make sence? or should i change something

Depends on how much you are paying to have them lowsy stock heads reworked. If he's doing the work for peanuts go that route if his prices are a little high go with a decent after market head a good set of flowing heads will be the best choice for building your motor.

Dont chrome the TPI assembly..
Polish it
it is High grade aluminum, the polished finish will resemble
Chrome for the fraction of the price ..
I did mine on my own, the majority of the people here at TGO have done the same.
I dont recommend any head work if this is going to be a show car. There are heads out there that flow well.
get some 081 or 416 casting iron heads that flow good
and are affordable. Ive heard numerous success stories.
I am using 081 heads on my L98 with 1.6 roller rockers
unless you want aluminum on top of your motor,
those 2 heads I named are your best bet.
with this basic setup, you will be decently fast.
I wouldnt use that 100 shot.
Instead find ways to get more torque.
just my 2 cents
