SDPC TPI base/cooling

This may be a dumb question, but I just read this Choosing TPI and notice that they mention the Corvette base has a "water crossover" at the back.

I already installed my SDPC base, so I can't check, but the picture of the Corvette base shown in the link above looks pretty much identical to how I remember the back of my SDPC base. But I also don't see enough difference in the castings in the pics of the intakes at that link, that prove that water "crosses over" there on the Corvette intake.

The SDPC base has the tapped hole near the distributor clamp as shown on the Corvette base, (plus the same EGR spot) and I DID use that to make sure there were no air bubbles in that location but didn't think about if coolant crossed over there.

I guess my question is, does the Corvette base actually allow coolant to crossover in that location, and if so, does the SDPC base replicate that?

I checked edelbrocks site, no mention is made, but it's pretty obvious there is a coolant "runner" coming off the drivers side rear of the intake too, just can't tell if it goes all the way through.

This is more for curiosity sake than anything, I just never knew there was this difference.

Here's a corvette lower intake I cleaned up yesterday. It's 89-91 style...no cold start provision. There is definitely an open passage in the rear for coolant. The coolant travels just in front of the distributor hole. I'm almost certain that all aftermarket bases have this coolant passage to make the intake manifold compatible with the Corvette engine.
