Dropping in my new 383 this week and need some help on What pound injectors to buy. Going with the stock tpi intake and runners. This motor is some what mild--9 1/2 piston and 420 lift, 240 @ 50 cam.

 

24 #/hr Ford Racing injectors along with a AFPR will get the job done for you. The stock ECM might be happy with these 24s. If you go any bigger, you will have to get an Eprom programmed.

 

I say go with 30lbs injectors. I got 30's on my 327 an I got no tuning issues at all its not burning rich either. As a matter of fact my car fired right up with the new engine install and my cam has 292 dur. You do have a 89 with a Map though and it might not be as forgiving. I've had several people from forums, summit and other places say that there too big but I talk too a Dyno shop and they all agree to go with 30lbs and up. They say with their experience in dynoing that they get the best reading with them.
Also if you take a look at most performace cars today their sporting no less than a 28lb.
