Intake seals.... please check this out...

Hello,

i m currently busy with replacing the
intake seals...

but the new intake seal has
a iron/metal plate in the seal itself.

is this normal ?
the old one don't have the iron/metal plate....

should i remove it or leave it ??

If you take a look at the opposite side of the metal tab you will see that their isnt any thing there the water wont travel through your intake where the metal is so dont worry about it..
You might want to just use a thick bead of grey silicone on the front and back of the intake on the china wall instead of using gasket material( the cork or black rubber material) they usually slip out and move over time. Be sure the mating surfaces are very clean as well.
