did searches and read different post for hours and still need help

ok i am a newbie here and i am about to buy an 88 Iroc Z with the 305tpi 5 speed combo and just have a simple question about doing a motor swap. ever search i do turns into reading hours worth of different post just to find out that none of them really answer my questions all that well.. So as it goes i am gonna buy the Iroc and want to swap in a 35O in place of the 305 and it just so happens that i already have a 350 block and rotating assembly out of a 93 Silverado. So here in lies my question about this swap. Will the heads, intake, and accesories off of the 305 bolt onto this 350 or any 350 for that matter and is there any dissadvantages to doing so? I think I read somewhere that the 350 has different heads that the 305 or maybe just different valve sizes? At this point i dont know what i think it is all become one big pile of $hit in my brain. I am sure that these questions may have been asked and answered before.. But if someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Everything off the 305 will bolt up to the 350. Since it sounds like you're going relatively stock with the 350,,, you should be able to get by with the 305 chip and injectors if you get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so you can jack the pressure up a little. You should also be able to get by with wrapping the 305's knock sensor with a good bit of teflon tape and tighten it no more than it needs to keep it from leaking. I'm not sure about the pistons used / compression ratio on the 350 you plan on using, but the 305's smaller chamber heads may require you to run premium gas - so you'll need to be mindful of your timing (especially with the 305 chip and knock sensor). Still,,, it should work OK for you

If you go with head work or heads later and / or high performance cam,,,, or if you really want to get the tune right you'll need to get the equipment to burn your own custom chip.

i am new to this all it will be my first engine swap i have a 4 gen camaro i played with for the longest time ( just minor bolt-ons) but now want to do something a little more Old school or what ever you want to call it ...... and as for the 350 it needs to be rebuilt so that will be done (balanced and blueprinted) by a local machine shop and then i am gonna try to put it all together and bolt it up in the car and get it running ..... that will be a major accomplishment and once it runs i will then start modding the engine and what not when it is all said and done i want to be pushing 350hp at the rear wheels if there is anythign else i need to watch out for please let me know
