Dripping fuel

Why would I be dripping fuel from underneath the vacuum canister, just behind the driver side headlight? Does a fuel line run in that area?

87 tpi 305, manual tranny

And one more thing, how do I check the fuel pressure, I think it might be too high.

Thanks

So it should be full of fuel or no? I thought it was a vacuum canitster, but it is a charcoal canister, huh, learn something new everyday.

Vaccuum canister is below the charcoal canister. The vacuum canister looks like a huge black softball. The charcoal canister has a crap load of lines going to it and is shaped like a coffee can. You may have a leak at the charcoal canister. Start there.

Before this happened I was idleing at around 1500 rpm, but now I'm idleing at about 2500, and I'm getting a code 45. We tryed to adjust the IACV but it didn't do anything. Do I need to replace the IACV or does it sound like my problem is elsewhere. Oh and yes the canister was full of fuel.

What else could cause a high idle, and what should the idle speed be?

Thanks guys.

You need to replace the cannister...don't believe it can be drained. It's there to absorb fuel vapors from the tank. At certain times of operation, the solenoid will open and the vapors are supposed to be sucked out and reburnt through the throttlebody...could be your solenoid is not operating.

It should not be full of fuel.
