2nd fan not comming on
I recenlty just changed the plugs on my car and knocked a wire loose. I don't remember exactly what it looks like, but I have heard that this sensor makes the 2nd cooling fan come on?
Is that the right part for what I need? Is it a clip or a screw in type? If it helps, the wire i knocked loose was right next to the 3rd exhaust port of the drivers side, not sure if it was on the head or the block.[IMG]

Guessing you're referring to the connector on the pass side head below and between #6 and #8 plugs?
If so, it is the 2ndry fan sensor (ala coolnat fan switch).
I don't recall what my stock (on my '89 IROC) switch had, but do recall I used a spade connector for the hypertech switch I replaced it with.
FWIW, the pic you show looks exactly like the stock fanswitch in my '91 RS

Well, i touched it back in the hole when replacing my plugs, and the fan came on for a second, so im guessing what that is. (that pic was from a tbi related post)

Ya, the RS I have is exactly like your pic posted, but it's been so long since I changed my origianl fanswitch out (in my IROC), I don't recall what it looked like..I do know I had to put a spade connector on the wire to work with the Hypertech one I used...
Lotta good that does ya, huh?

Get the high speed fan switch for a 86-87 or 89 Buick 3.8 Turbo application.
Bout 14$ and turns on the second fan at 203-205 instead of assinine 237 degree like the stocker does :-)
