Help

I just got my freshly rebuilt motor dropped in and running and drove it to the trans shop to have the pressure checked like that told me to well when i got there I popped the hood and there was oil all over the passenger side of the motor the oil dipstick came out about an inch and sprayed the motor with oil what could cause all that pressure it only happened when I drove it on the highway for 40 miles it doesn't do it at a ideal

Blowby from fresh rings that are not seated could increase crankcase pressure significantly while at highway speeds. Regardless, the oil dipstick tube should not have been forced out if it was installed properly. The end of the tube may need to be swaged slightly to provide a tighter fit. The crankcase pressure should have popped out the PCV valve first.

Wow thats a really long sentence more like a stream of consciousness hey have you ever read Thoreau he was big on that writing style and maybe he would have enjoyed your use of it but anyway your crankcase is getting pressurized either you don't have a functioning PCV or it has some major blowby check your PCV setup against the factory design be sure the valve isn't stuck and if all that is completely ruled out then run a compression test on each cylinder.

That cant be it I put chrome molly rings in they never seat they ware the cylinder wall. The dipstick tube dident come out the dipstick came out of the tube. I did a compression test yesterday it came out like this.

cylinder 1=175 psi 2=170 psi 3=175 psi 4=165 psi 5=160 psi 6=165 psi 7=165 psi 8=160 psi I have not checked the PVC valve yet but i will do that today.

That's enough variation in compression readings that I'd be inclined to run a leakdown test. This gives more detailed results, as well as an audible indication of where the leakage is happening.

The right next step is still the PCV, be sure the valve rattles and it's connected to a good fulltime vacuum source. If you don't find anything, it's time for a leakdown test.
