Just because you punched to a high RPM doesnt mean you
automatically hurt the motor.

I will tell you what the guys on the forum told me when my
motor knocked last summer (spun bearing)

locate where the noise is comming from.. Is it comming from
the top of the engine? or the Bottom ??

If its untop of the engine, its valvetain or normal ticking..
Our motors always "tick" its the fuel Injectors ..

you can avoid alot of trouble just by knowing where
the sound comes from..

Good luck

like I said, you can confirm this by locating the noise

floating your valves is caused by over reving but you would know if you did in fact float them.
