Firing order needed.
Can someone please tell me the firing order on a 1985 305 TPI motor? Also, can someone send me detailed pictures of how the spark plug wires should run along the sides of the motor?
The wires on my car were installed by the last owner and are tooo long and hang all over the place. I bought Accel cut to fit wires and would like it to look right.
Thanks for all the help you guys give me with my simple questions.
Phil.

The firing order is: 18436572. This is like the hot-rodders social security number
The cylinders on the drivers side go 1, 3, 5 & 7 from front to back.
The cylinders on the passenger side go 2, 4, 6 & 8 from the front to back.
Assuming the distributer is stabbed (installed) correctly, 1 & 8 should be up front (with 1 being towards the drivers side, 8 towards the passenger side). Starting with 1, it goes clockwise through the firing order.
I'm sure somebody has a picture to post, but this should get you started.
