maf sensor bypass
i have an 85 t/a with the 305 tpi, is it possible to bypass the maf so i can put a different air intake on it, if not is there a true cool air intake i can put on it?

Some guys in the DIY PROM section have swapped some code on the chip to convert to run SD instead of the MAF. I don't think it's difficult, but you need to be able to burn your own chip and make some code changes with a hex editor to your bin file.

That MAF conversion to MAP using the stock ECM is brilliant. I did the conversion and had to get a new computer and whatnot. Why try to remove a working MAF? If you want cold air intake just keep it plugged in and get some more piping and make your own- keeping the MAF in there somewhere.

Personally, I would swap to the '730 ECM. That way there is no MAF and you have the benefit of using the ECM with the most DIY info available for tuning, etc.
It is pretty easy to do...
