Bosch D9B Fuel Injectors

Anybody use the new Bosch D9B Fuel Injectors, (91 Z28, 5.7)
and have a probem with the seating of the o-rings into the
manifold ports? They appear to be too short & don't seat all the way down into the Injector port. When you match them up to the
Multec's, the distance between the o-rings (fuel rail to manifold]
port) the Bosch injectors are a shorter distance. (3/8", just a little but it makes a difference in the seal) I put them on the fuel rail first, seating them all the way to the half moon o-ring stop. The only other option I see is grinding down the fuel rail bolt holders on the manifold to bring down the fuel rail, (thus the injectors) closer into the port for a correct seal.

Or maybe they don't need to be seated all the way into the rail?

Any help appreciated.

I put them in my 91 and did not use the clips. Once I had the injectors in the rails and the rails bolted on, I just sort of slid the injectors up or down to approximately center them in the range of up/down motion.

I had no leaks on startup and now have about 1000 miles on them with no leaks.

Like you I thought about shortening the rail mount towers, but decided to try it as is and so far no problems.

One thing I did though was to replace the o-rings that came on the injectors with OEM GM orings. I did not measure them, but the GM orings seemed to fit just a little tighter in the intake bosses and fuel rail.

Yeah, Thats what I just did today. They do slide up and down a
little so I seated them against the manifold ports. I fiqure thats
the less of the two evils since the fuel pressure is pushing down from the fuel rails anyway. And there seems to be enought space
in the fuel rail port with out the o-ring coming out.

The guys at Five-O said they were the correct injectors for the car.

Now the bloody car car won't fire up after the new injectors
are installed, Put the distributor back in as taken out, (checked
#1 with top dead center and I got spark. Vacuum lines are
OK,

I also pushed down on the shraeder valve and I got fuel in the rails. (came spraying out) I Also replaced the Fuel pressure unit.

What the Frig is up now?......... I must have missed something???

Hmmmm?

Don't know what to say. Mine fired right up, ran a little rough for a few seconds, then smoothed right out.

Just an update for anyone interested. The reason the car wouldn't start is because I inadvertantly switched two
wires (AIT - Air Intake Temp sensor under the plenum and the Ignition Control Module wire on the distributor) upon re-assembly. The two wires have the exact same type of plug. and I just wasn't careful plugging them back in to their respective modules. Otherwise once I get the timing back, the car should run fine with the new injectors. No leaks.
