Funky oil pressure

(EDIT: sorry in meant to put this in V6 forum group)

I read throught the first couple of pages of my search results looking for a similar problem and couldn't find it. I got a '90 firebird with the v6 and my oil pressure guage idles at around 20-ish (which is pretty normal for this car) but what's queer is that it drops to almost, but not quite, zero under load. Gnereally in all my other 'birds the opposite is usually the case that it idles low and increases pressure under load...

My father-in-law is more or less a master mechanic and never heard of such a thing. I'm pretty sure its the oil pressure sending unit, but I'd like to get some feedback and see if anyone else has ever heard of this...

Car: 1986 Camaro Z28
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: Who orders an auto in a Camaro??
Axle/Gears: Economy gears..once again, WHY?!?
All I can say is check the connections to the sender out, and the wiring, and dont forget that the dash gauges in these 3rd gens have been known to be not so hot by just about everyone that owns them Take my oil pressure gauge for instance, sometimes it just sits there and moves somewhat erratically, while others it is perfectly fine. I dont care enough to mess with it.

Well I'm lucky that in my case it was 100% the sending unit. When I pulled the plug it was full of oil. When I replaced it I'm now running 45 at idle and 50-ish under load.
