305 to 350 keeping tpo

i have a 91 lb9 5spd manual the current engine is running great but has over 150,000 miles on it

Before i start sinking much money into other aspects of the car i would like to have a general plan just incase my current engine dies. I would like to know if this will work,

i plan on for now building up the tpi system with items like superram, longtube runners, ect but when the engine goes will i be able to just replace my 305 block with any 350 block and keep all the tpi system??

is there anything that could go wrong? i want to keep it very much on the cheap but dont wanna have an engine that runs like crap all im looking for out of the swap is reliability and maybe 250-300 reliable horses

thanks for any advice

All that is needed to go from 305TPI to 350TPI is injectors, PROM and knock sensor and a 350 engine of course. All other aspects of the TPI are the same.

will any 350 block work? are they all the same?

i currently am able to get a fully rebuilt 350 carbed engine out of some boxtruck for 250$. Would that be worth it even if i dont plan to replace anything soon? i plan on keeping tpi for driveabilty issues

thanks for the quick responce this website is great

The vettes and f-bodies were roller motors meaning they had roller lifters. Some blocks of the same vintage had the bosses for the spider to hold the lifters there, some didn't. You would have to check.
