305 build

hi guys i got an 86 firebird. carbbed 305.

im lookin to just get some extra power. its my daily driver. so id lke to just get a few more horses out of it. i do have a rather small budget however. any suggestions?

I do believe there were two carb options that year. The L69 and LG4 do you know which one you have?

1.) Headers, y-pipe, high flow cat, and cat-back is probably the best place to start.

2.) After that maybe look into intake stuff

3.) 3.73 gears would help

4.) Is your car a manual or auto? If its an auto, a converter can help alot.

5.) Then a cam

6.) Then head work

There is a good progression for you. If you are on a budget, I would just start w/ exhaust and work from there. Don't forget wieght reduction!, its free!
