no codes

I have a 89 305 tpi iroc that has been running really bad, tried to check the eng codes but the check eng light just stayed on, no blinking please help

did you mean "no" blinking? and when you jumpered the pins, would not give you the codes?

Check the wire harness connectors at the ECM, and make sure the CALPAK/MEMCAL is seated in the socket on the ECM mainboard. With the ECM still hanging free from the dash (but connected), start the engine and try lightly tapping on the ECM case to see if anything changes.
