ok i did a full tune up and set up the tps switch on my 86 305 tpi now when i hit the throttle there is alot of hasitation and when i put it in drive it barely wants to move and has no power at all please tell me what i need to look for to fix this problem it originally had a code 36 but after replacing the relays it seem to take care of that problem but know i dont know what else to do and the haynes manual is a joke ,total waste of money any sugestion would be greatly appreciated thanks chuck

 

Check firing order, and make sure none of the plug wires are arcing.

 

checked the firing order also had to order a new cap and rotor i wanted something that wasnt cheap so i will be putting them on tomorrow i was also trying to look for vacum leaks but there is so much stuff under the hood you cant see anything .i am putting on a new iac switch tomorrow with the cap and rotor to see if that helps but if it doesnt then i am at a loss

 

messed with the car alittle more today i bought an accel cap and rotor and also an accel hei super coil this thing still runs rough when cold idles up and down anywhere from 850 to almost 2000 rpms when it is warmed up it still idles at about 1300 but goes up and down alot and still has alot of hesitation when trying to drive like it has no power cold or warm checked the tps and its is at .55 and 4.7 volts wot i replaced the maf power relay ,the iac cleaned the throttle body and still have problem i just got an auto xray scanner off ebay so i should have that by monday so i can checked everything out maybe it will tell me whats wrong or at least give me some kind of clue the shop aruond here wants $75 an hour to diagnose the car any sugestions on what to check or what could be wrong would mean alot to me thanks chuck
