Advice for heads and cam swap (READ PLZ)

ok im compiling a list of parts im gonna need to swap when i do heads, cam and intake. im talking EVERYTHING here. plus i would like a little advice as well.

ok the setup is LPE 219 cam, AFR 195 heads and a Holley Stealth Ram. ive searched a bit and that seems to be a very nice setup and will make soem good power but the heads and intake will accept a larger cam later on.

ok i need:
heads
intake
cam (already have)
1.6 rockers
cloyes double roller timing chain
upgraded springs from AFR
head gaskets
intake gaskets (what part number?)
5qts oil (i would assume since the cam is a roller cam and it doesnt need a break in, synthetic would be ok?)
i would like to get a 2pc timing cover
assembly lube
head studs (ARP)
loctite

and thats all i can think of. if anyone has anymore suggstions that would be great.

ALSO. what about driving it? the guy that might be doing my custom PROM lives about 20 minutes away from me so it will be driving on a stock L98 SD tune with a stock stall. is that gonna pose a problem? also after the tune, am i gonna be ok with the stock stall and 3.23 gears until i can get some 3.73s and a t56 swapped in?

driving...stock SD tune might not even run w/ those mods. - anyhow, your list loooks good.
- You might look into just getting better springs vs getting better from AFR. I'm sure their pricing can be beat, and I know their springs can be beat.
- As for intake gaskets, AFR should be able to tell you which to run. Head gaskets would depend upon the chamber size in the heads you buy, since you're going aluminim, get that thing up to 10:1 compression.
- As for oil, I won't run synthetic if you give it to me, break in or otherwise, so thats up to you. I think most manufacturers reccomend waiting for atleast 1 oil change even w/ a roller cam.

damn, i was hoping i could use the stock tune temporarily to get to the guys house. i knew it wouldnt run worth crap but oh well.

what about the trasmission? you think a stock stall (i was told it was a vette stall but i doubt it) will be ok for maybe a month or so? the tranny is on its last leg and the car isnt driven much so it wont be daily driven. just cruisin few a couple hours at a time...

it may run enough to get it to someone's house, but it may not...guess you'll be finding that out.

as for the trans/converter, it should be fine, until you break it w/ your new found power and need a new one.

also, my compression reccomendation was for a n/a motor... so if you're gonna go boost, forget what I said.

probably wont have boost till after college in this car. im gonna boost my daily driver as soon as tuning equipment becomes available for it. for now im gonna build this and hope it doest blow up. i may spray it a little later on but for now ill be happy with a bit more power. with stock pistons what size chambers do i need for about 10:1-10.5:1?

The converter would be fine, unless of course you simply destroy it. It may not be ideal for the set-up, but assuming you don't break it, it'll be fine.
