Roller motors???
Settle an argument. My buddy says all V-8's since 1987 are roller motors. I think that only the tuned ports are roller motors. Who is right??
Both. And neither.
All SBC V-8 passenger car engines built in and after 1987 were equipped with roller lifters. The SBC V-8s in trucks were the same case castings and had the same machining, but did not receive roller lifters in all circumstances until 1994-95.
You'll find that little tidbit and a lot more interesting data in the FAQ and Tech Data sections on this site.

Not all V8 passenger cars in and after 87 got roller lifters. The 4th gen Monte never got a roller cam (ended production in Dec '87).
