knock sensor

need to know something would putting a 45* or 90* elbow on the knock senser, will this deaden the knock senser, or just make it less sensitive?

and is there a way to just bypass it?

Edit: or would I need to get into the prom and do something
about the knock count to retard?

The begged question is... why are you getting the knock counts?

I bought the car with new unfinished motor in it. the car will start when cold but not warm. Checked alot of stuff (nothing) found out that motor has a geardrive in it (would rather not do a timing chain) So now i'm on a quest so to speak, on how (if possible) to make this work.
