I skipped through the last half page of the thread, but the first question I have is, how much weight was saved by the !AC, !AIR, !PS pump, and and electric water pump?

i think BMmonteSS hit most of it right there.
lets say he picked up 5 HP with the under drive pulley running just the alternator. probably an easy 5~10 with the A/C compressor & AIR pump, another 15~20 wouldn't surprise me on the power steering pump.
the water pump can easily be 20+. that a low of 45 HP gain. dump in some thin oil like 5w20 synthetic instead of 20w50 & there could be another 10+ HP. on the high side thats 60 HP, 245 rated plus 60, 305, not bad for a stocker TPI. then whats the gain from the 1.6 rockers? throw in the headers & exhaust, i can see 350+ from that motor.
what can a 350 horse power motor with a good suspension do in a third gen?
if he removed all of the A/C stuff, all the AIR stuff, & all power steering & put on a standard steering gear box, thats probably good for around 175~200+ pounds. now where would he be at?

LOL, this is a great post. I have never seen so many 3rd gen lovers that quabble about how fast a tuned port car can go.
Now it seems the mph is in question in some of the last few posts. I don't think 105 mph is out of the question. Mine has gone 99 mph in the heat, and with 2.77 gears. I have only installed shorty headers and an Edelbrock cat back exhaust. Doing that with stock everything else, and I mean everything, stock intake, stock converter, stock street rubber etc..... I have only recently started with custom tuning, but I have not found anything more there. I am sure with simply cooler temps I may pick up some more. Add some gears, converter, sticky tires, etc...I am sure I would see at least 102 mph or so. And I still have the A/C etc...stripping my car as he did would pick me up even more, but I am not taking the car that far,,,gotta have the A/C you know,,lol.
Just for giggles, I ran my wifes 97 Z-28 6-speed with 3.42 gears,,,,it only ran 14.30's at 98 mph,,,,a bone stocker. As of right now my tuned port Iroc with an auto and 2.77 gears is smoking my LT-1 6-speed with 3.42's to the tune of 13.90's at 99 mph. Granted I have done some exhaust work on the Iroc, still the old tune port car is nothing to sneeze at. Larry.

exactly...they take away from it.
105 is still strong no matter how u look at it. i ran 100.9 in the fall. 98 in the summer. 97 on et streets in the summer. have yet to run in the fall air. gettin dyno'd this saturday tho
i'm curious what 3.73 gears on thos 26inch et streets, ac delete, electric water pump, smog delete and aggressive tuning will do on my car. cuz i have a converter unlike the car in question in this post. i'm doing near 1.7x 60s (1.80 my best with bad trans mount LOL).

Stickies have always helped my other car in both mph and et. Any time I have been able to improve my 60 foot times, both my mph and et have improved at the same time.
Could be other variables involved but thats what I have experienced. My 60 foot times with the Iroc have only been 2.10, but it does that consistently. There is a ton of room for improvement there, and since the car runs 13.90's as is, I am confident that even the smallest improvement in 60 foot times in the 1.90 range would put the car in the 13.70's, maybe quicker. I am pretty happy with that for such minimal work on a stocker.
I need to tinker with that LT-1 before it gets left too far behind,,lol Larry.
