87 L98 smog pump delete
I was wondering if I can delete the smog pump on my 87 iroc L98 TPI. I can't find a delete pulley and wondering if there is another way i can do it. Any instructions or diagrams will help and if I can remove my cat without any problems.

there is a tech article at the home page of the site that tells you how to do it.

IIRC, '87 has the v-belt/serpentine combo.
v-belt for the ps pump
v-belt for the a/c (wraps 1/3 of the p/s pump pulley)
serp. for the water pump & alt.
v-belt for the air pump.
Remove the pump. leave the belt off.

Yes agreed. When I put my headers on my car, all that smog pump and piping went in the trash. It was just a V-belt. I didnt have to put a delete pully on or anything. Hardest thing to do was getting the smog pump lines off that wrap around the back of the motor. If you follow the lines from the drivers side....it wraps around the back of the motor and goes to the passanger side. Thats sort of hard to get off. I tell you what though, I put my headers on.....and it really cleaned up that motor compartment! Junior Member

Ive been wanting to remove that clutter from under my hood as well, but i was wondering if anyone has just removed the a.i.r. setup and plugged off the holes in the manifolds
