LT1 Intake User review and installs!

Gentlemen,

I have an LT1 intake I am about ready to install (one of the first versions sitting in my garage now for 3 yrs) and i want to know what everyone that has one installed thinks about the following questions only:

What maintaince or repairs as a result of this install?initial and long term

Has anyone made it Smog Legal for Cali? or tried?pics or diagrams please

Has anyone installed this with a stock vbelt setup (87) and 58 mm TB? what did you do to clear the IAC and the Alternator? I am trying to leave the car as stock as possible with AC and Smog

Also I would love to see pics of the the installs. I researched this and saw some on the board but with 50+ out there installed I would expect more.

I understand the company was sold, what updated have been made or learned to improve the manifold coversion and install?

I appreciate everyones input. I am considering running this combo on a set of PoTopline heads, ported and polished, any issues with those heads and intake?

Thank you
Tim

Making it smog legal would be very difficult, since the original design EGR cannot be used with a distributor installed in the stock location. You could mount a remove EGR and custom fab some tubing/lines to the necessary ports, but it's not a slam-dunk.

Even adding an EGR to the converted LT1 intake won't make it smog legal. That would require a CARB number which ain't going to ever happen.

It would be smog legal in 49 states. Only California requires the CARB EO numbers. I know, our poster is in Cali...
