Converting 350tbi to 350tpi
Guys I have found a deal on a 350tbi motor and rebuilt 700r4. I have a tired 305tpi. I would like to put the tpi onto the 350. A couple issues need to be addressed:
1) the motor is from a Chevy Van. So that means it has the flat tappet cam, right? I would like to transfer my L98 cam into it. What do I need from my 305? Heads, lifters, pushrods pretty much everything right?
2) What kind of compression did those vans have?
3) Will the 350tbi knock sensor work with TPI? I want to say it will.
4) I get some bare L98 heads, can I re-use the stock Tpi pushrods and rockers and the rest?
5) Are there any bolt angle differences? I would hate to have it all ready to go back at 2am Sunday night and find out, that I can't drive it to work because it needs to have holes redrilled.
I am doing this on an extreme budget. So I have no money to buy high performance stuff.
