TPS sensors

quick question for you guys out there. I tested my TPS sensor and adjusted it. worked for a bit, and now the sensor output wire is up to 4.8 volts, causing the ECM errors. does anyone know the resistances and whatnot to test the sensor itself? i know all about the voltage output tests, but i want to test the sensor itself. couldn't find a good answer by searching. thanks

As far as I've read, it just has to have a smooth transition from idle to WOT. You check it with a voltmeter attached, and watch it climb. Why is 4.8 too high. I thought that it just had to reach a minimum of 4.5 or something. What was the idle voltage, and did you set the mechanical idle with the IAC disconnected first?

because it is 4.8vdc on the sensor output with the throttle fully closed. the reference voltage is correct, but thew output is very wrong, and only one week after i adjusted it. what i am looking for is the method to test the sensor itself, with no voltage applied. any ideas?

Mulitmeter with a bar graph to check resistance.
I adjusted mine a few weeks ago since I was getting a code 22 (I think it was 22, it's the Low Voltage at TPS error), after adjustment the code was more frequent and I have't had time to play with it more.

any idea what resistance is within tolerance, and across which pins? i assume the sensor is just a rheostat (sp?) i know i have 6k ohms across 2 sets of pins, and one set (can't remember) is about 150, and doesn't vary much when sensor is moved through full range of motion. i think it changes of less than 50 ohms

come on guys i know someone out there has to have this little tid bit of information rattling around in their brain. really need to know. i am trying to get in touch with a manufacturer but that isn't going so grand
