What does your 305 tbi/tpi engine pull for vacuum at idle WITH A STOCK CAM? I am trouble shooting whether or not I have an intake leak on a 305 tpi long block w/ a carb on top. I have around 18" vac idling in neutral, does this sound good or low?

18" is a very strong vac signal! If it is steady, and the needle doesn't bounce around at all, then you've got nothing to worrry about. The most I ever managed to pull out of my old 3/4 ton with a stock cam was 19.5" of steady vaccum at 800 rpm in park.
